Superior Bulk Regulator, Intestinal Cleanser And Detoxifier In a Naturally Nutritious Food

Essential Nutrients in Flax Could Prevent Many Conditions

The flax seed is an excellent food because it contains almost a complete diet all by itself. Its components are used in the treatment of many conditions which, if it were a regular part of the diet, would not occur in the first place.

  • The solid part of the seed provides fiber and mucilage, natural bulk regulators, intestinal cleansers and detoxifiers. Because of its smooth mucilage (water-absorbing fiber), adding Nutri-Fiber to the diet will produce daily textbook-type stools of greater volume and weight that are of a smooth, uniform consistency and are passed with incredible ease.

  • It contains high quality, easily digestible protein with all the essential amino acids plus arginine, histidine, tyrosine and cystine.

  • Flax is one of nature’s richest sources of lignans, cyclic unsaturated compounds which have been investigated for their anti-cancer activity and used as chemotherapeutic agents.

  • Oil from flax seed contains a high percentage of both Omega 3 and Omega 6 essential fatty acids (EFA's). Nutri-Fiber also contains all major minerals and most minor and trace minerals.

More than Four Times the Fiber of Most Grains

The natural bulk regulating properties of Nutri-Fiber result from its exceptionally high fiber content...21% as opposed to 5% for most grains. Fiber keeps the digestive tract from being clogged with mucus, keeping it swept and moving. Thus, it is a far superior intestinal cleanser and detoxifier.

Flax is also known for its high mucilage content...17%, while most plants have less than 1%, which makes it the best natural laxative available.

The mucilage soothes and protects the delicate stomach and intestinal lining, prevents irritation and keeps the contents moving smoothly along. Because it absorbs many times its weight in water and swells, the stools don't become hard and dry. Flax mucilage also buffers excess acid which makes it ideal for people with acid or sensitive stomachs and ulcers. The essential fatty acids in Nutri-Fiber also serve as stool softeners.

By relieving constipation, which affects 30%-50% of the adult North American population, increased dietary fiber can be beneficial in the prevention and treatment of related conditions:

  • Intestinal flora is improved with increased dietary fiber and, when used with a high potency acidophilus supplement such a Acidophilus E.C., Bifido Plus E.C., Multi Dophilus or Pro Dophilus, helps to overcome Candida Albicans.

  • Diverticular disease is named for the diverticuli, pea-sized balloons poking through the muscular lining of the large intestines. Researchers believe that these little sacs are formed as the colon muscles contract with greater and greater pressure in attempt to move small, hard, low-fiber stools.

  • As an intestinal cleanser and detoxifier, dietary fiber can bind cancer promoting compounds and other toxins. It also dilutes these substances by virtue of its bulking properties, thereby providing a protective effect. Since bowel transit time is decreased when fiber intake is high, toxic substances are moved out of the intestines and are in contact with the intestinal wall for a shorter period of time.

  • Plant lignans also have a beneficial influence on estrogen metabolism and may protect against breast cancer.

  • Appendicitis can occur when a hard lump of stool blocks the opening of the appendix and bacteria multiply in the appendix. When constipation is prevented, appendicitis can also be prevented.

  • Hemorrhoids, varicose veins and hiatal hernia are caused by raised pressure within the abdomen which results from the straining associated with constipation. By preventing constipation, these conditions could also be prevented.

Obesity, Cardiovascular Disease and Diabetes

OBESITY — The natural fiber bulking action of Nutri-Fiber also aids in weight management:

  • It suppresses the appetite by expanding in the stomach and producing a feeling of fullness (when fluid intake is adequate).

  • More energy is used to digest fiber, the rate at which calories are burned increases.

  • Bowel transit time is decreased; therefore, fewer calories are absorbed and more are excreted in the feces.

  • It sweeps the intestinal walls clean and free of mucus to allow for proper nutrient absorption. When the body receives all the nutrients it needs, it no longer craves more food.

  • The essential fatty acids in Nutri-Fiber speed up the metabolism and increase the rate at which fats and glucose are burned.

CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASE — It is generally recognized that elevated serum cholesterol levels increase the risk of heart disease. Fiber and mucilage from flax are capable of lowering blood cholesterol in three ways:

  • By decreasing absorption of cholesterol.

  • By preventing reabsorption of bile acids.

  • By increasing the amount of cholesterol excreted.

In addition to dietary fiber, Nutri-Fiber contains linolenic acid (LA), which is converted by the body to EPA and DHA, necessary for the transport and metabolism of both cholesterol and triglycerides. This essential fatty acid is also required for the production of prostaglandins, which regulate platelet stickiness, arterial muscle tone, inflammatory response, immune function and sodium excretion. Prostaglandins also play an important role in calcium and energy metabolism.

DIABETES — Fiber and mucilage have proven to be extremely beneficial in diabetic diets. Soluble fiber slows the emptying of the stomach, the digestion of starches and the entry of glucose into the bloodstream. These work together to smooth out blood sugar levels. High fiber intake indirectly aids glucose metabolism by increasing the number of insulin receptors in the body and making tissues more sensitive to insulin.

The essential fatty acids in flax are also important. Diabetics can suffer from linoleic acid deficiency partly because high sugar levels make the LA present in the fat tissues unavailable to the body. LA given to diabetics has an insulin-sparing effect.

100% Natural, Organically Grown

Nutri-Fiber is 100% organically grown without the use of chemicals or pesticides. It is free of artificial additives — fillers sugar, flavors, colors and preservatives. No chemicals or damaging heat are used in processing. The product is specially packaged in black, opaque plastic containers to protect it from light and air.

NOTE — As a natural bulk regulator, Nutri-Fiber is completely safe for daily use. When dietary fiber is increased, fluid intake should also be increased to 8 - 10 glasses daily. Eight 10 oz. glasses of water is equal to 80 ounces daily.
